Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu transits: the exact dates

Jupiter in Leo: what the texts say for each Moon sign

Jupiter enters Leo on 31 October 2026, 11:17 IST. Counted from your Moon sign, the classical texts on gochara read Jupiter in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th signs as favourable; elsewhere it is not among the favourable places, which is not the same as harmful. Jupiter also aspects the 5th, 7th and 9th signs from wherever it is.

Saturn in Aries, from June 2027

Saturn enters Aries on 3 June 2027, 04:05 IST, returns to Pisces for the winter, and settles in Aries from 23 February 2028. In Aries Saturn is debilitated by the classical tables. The texts read Saturn as helpful in the 3rd, 6th and 11th signs from the Moon; the 12th, 1st and 2nd make up Sade Sati, and the 4th and 8th are kantaka and ashtama Shani.

Rahu and Ketu move into Capricorn and Cancer

On 5 December 2026, 22:32 IST Rahu leaves Aquarius for Capricorn and Ketu leaves Leo for Cancer, by the mean node JyotishiVani uses. The true node, which wobbles around the mean by up to about two degrees, makes the same change on 25 November 2026. Neither is wrong; it is a convention, and the reason almanacs disagree about the nodes by days or weeks. More on why sources disagree.

Every sign change, 2024 to 2030

Dates and times in IST. When Jupiter or Saturn turns retrograde near a sign boundary it steps back into the sign it left, then enters the new sign again; both stays are listed.

Why the same transit reads differently for each person

Sign-by-sign tables count only from the Moon. A real reading also counts from your lagna, looks at which houses the transiting planet rules in your chart, checks its ashtakavarga points in the sign it enters, and weighs it against the dasha you are running. Classical astrology reads a transit as setting off what the dasha has made ready, so the same Jupiter can mark a promotion for one person and pass almost unnoticed for another.

In the app, the Timeline tab lists the big sign changes counted from your own Moon sign for the next three years, and Vani can weigh any of them against your chart and dasha.
